I’m Sean Keesler. I live in Ithaca, New York, and I’m married with two children. This site is where I write about my rides, projects, and other things that hold my attention.
I work as a business analyst, helping colleges and universities figure out what they need from their software and put those systems into use. I’ve worked in education technology since 2000, as both an employee and a consultant. My work has covered admissions, enrollment, online learning, and the connections between those systems. You can find the details in my résumé.
Outside work, I ride bikes. I organize long-distance rides in the Finger Lakes, ride brevets, and go touring. My ride reports cover trips close to home as well as longer outings, including Paris–Brest–Paris in 2023. I write about the routes, the people, what went well, and what I’d do differently next time.
Before working in technology, I spent six years in the Navy. That included two years of training, two years in a shipyard testing a submarine’s nuclear power plant, and two years operating it on patrol.
I also have a degree in Forest Biology, with a concentration in Aquatic Sciences. I once planned on a career in fisheries management. My working life went in a different direction, but that interest is still there.
